Event background:
Over 200 women, girls, students and community leaders are expected to join this event along with community partners, local MPs, MPPs, City Councillors, and School Board Trustees.
We are pleased to inform you that our team of thirty feminist leadership fellows of our Fight Misogyny campaign, composed of youth to seniors in the Toronto-East community, who have been working tirelessly over the course of a year to bring attention to gender based discriminations and championing women’s rights in our communities. Our project titled: “Fighting Misogyny and Stereotypes against Racialized Women and Girls in Toronto (Fighting Misogyny)”. This project is generously funded by the Women & Gender Equity Canada.
For our International Women’s Day event this year, we are following suit of the UN Women’s theme for 2023: “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality“. Our feminist fellows will share their experiences and stories on how they created digital safe spaces for women and girls, as well as raised public awareness on gender equality through social media and digital community outreach. Our feminist fellows and participants of the Fight Misogyny and Stereotypes Against Racialized Women and Girls in Toronto campaign is funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada.
We hope you are able to join us on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 to celebrate International Women’s Day with our feminist leaders and community members at large.
